The 10th FRUCT conference will be held November 7-11, 2011, in Tampere, Finland. Besides general sections, there will also be technology training sessions and round tables. Participation in all the FRUCT events is free of charge, but registration is required. The paper submission deadline is September 19, 2011. Looking forward to see you in Tampere!

The Agenda for the Event is still being firmed up but the mouth watering rough draft is:

* Talk on how to develop and test applications with the MeeGo SDK and how to package and submit your application on Intel Applications store (AppUp).
* Ways to tune and optimize applications.
* “An introduction to Augmented Reality on MeeGo”. What is AR ? location based services and image recognition.
* Augmented Reality Applied in practice on MeeGo as well.

The FRUCT Program is one of the largest regional academia-to-industry and university-to-university cooperation frameworks. Join our expert from the Intel AppUp Developer Program to learn what MeeGo developers need to develop apps for the Intel AppUp Center. Besides technical details, you will also learn the business opportunities AppUp Center presents. By the end of the session, you'll have all the knowledge you need to create and submit MeeGo applications for Intel AppUp Center.

The first annual conference, called MeeGo Italian Day, is a one-day free event focused on the MeeGo open-source linux-based OS and Qt environment.

The conference will be entirely in Italian and will address the main issues of disclosure of information about this new open-source operating system and the point is located in its development: Maemo as a progenitor, MeeGo in general, the structure of the project, some keynotes from Intel, Qt framework, software development, etc...

The 1st Russian MeeGo conference will take place on 9-11 March 2011 in Moscow, Russia. More details will be published later.

With the launch of MeeGo 1.1 and the soon to launch Intel AppUp center client for MeeGo, it’s time to start thinking about developing MeeGo apps.

To help us build and educate a vibrant community with some of the best developer resources, we are looking for the best articles and blogs devoted to developing a Meego application.

The FOSS.in (Free Open Source Software dot in) is an yearly 3 day India Open Source event. This year, Nokia is Technology Sponsor for the event and we have a MeeGo mini-conference as part of the conference.

Nokia plans to have a MeeGo stall, presentations and hacking sessions for this event.

The first and initial meeting of the new Tampere Local MeeGo Network. We will discuss the basic stuff and plan future events and activities. If you can find a sponsor for our meetings, feel free to get one :) Anyone interested in Meego hacking is welcome to attend.

MeeGo Developer Day is a hands-on conference designed specifically for developers as a one-stop learning center for MeeGo, with sessions and labs on topics including MeeGo developer tools, MeeGo architecture, designing MeeGo apps, and more!

GUADEC is the largest get together of GNOME users, developers, foundation leaders, individuals, governments and businesses in the world. MeeGo uses a fair bit of GNOME infrastructure, particularly in the netbook version. There will be a strong presence of MeeGo hackers at the event giving talks, mostly on Clutter and related technologies but also on our fancy Bluetooth UI and Banshee media player. Go and see:

The 12th annual OSCON has hundreds of sessions, tutorials, activities, and events focused on all aspects of open source software. This year's OSCON takes place July 19-23, 2010 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.

Akademy is the annual world summit of the KDE community. MeeGo Technical Steering Group member Valtteri Halla has a keynote. Several sessions related to Qt, main UI and application toolkit in MeeGo, are also expected.

We will also be hosting a MeeGo party at the event!!! Stay tuned for which night that will be. :)

COMPUTEX TAIPEI has become the largest computer exhibition in Asia and the second largest in the world, next to CeBIT in Germany. Each year, key global businesses come to this event to launch their new products. Since a large portion of the businesses in the world have research and deployment centers or production facilities in Taiwan, this exhibition attracts observers, analysts, and journalists of computer and information industries from all over the world to discover and report the latest technologies, developments, and trends.

MeeGo will be highlighted during a keynote, and there will be MeeGo demos in the Intel booth on the show floor.

The purpose of this meeting is to coordinate tasks by moving proposed tasks to committed tasks with clear owners and prioritization. We hope that this meeting will make it easier for us to get more organized about how we accomplish work in the CWG, and avoid the duplicated effort that we have been seeing at least in these early days of the project while we merge the two communities.

How you can participate:

• Anyone can attend these meetings or participate in the process!
• Anyone can add any proposed task to the wiki. All we ask is that you have a single person coordinating the effort and a wiki page or bug filed with more information about the task. The process is documented on the Community WG wiki page.
